The men’s basketball team sported this look on their jerseys through the 1970s, which also happened to be a dominant decade for the Bengals. ISU won the Big Sky regular season championship three times, and won the Big Sky conference tournament in 1977. Later in that famous 1977 season, the unranked Bengals defeated PAC-8 champion UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen by one point to earn their spot in the Elite Eight.
