We're celebrating 100 beautiful years for football at Spartan Stadium along with Spartans everywhere! Formerly known as College Field, Macklin Field, and Macklin Stadium (and nicknamed “The Woodshed”), Spartan Stadium has hosted countless iconic victories and saw two of their longest home win streaks ever, as well as the famed “Cold War” hockey game against Michigan. Before each football game, the announcer lets the crowd know the forecast, to which everyone replies, “It’s a beautiful day for football!”
