The Story
Though you couldn’t catch Oklahoma on network television in 1974 due to their NCAA probation, the high-powered Sooner offense propelled them to an undefeated season; they earned the AP No. 1 spot despite also being disqualified from playing a postseason bowl game. In 1975, No. 3 Oklahoma was once again barred from network TV in the regular season, but won their championship in style (and on TV!) against Michigan, since No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Texas A&M both lost their respective bowls.
