The Story
We know you know this classic circus font used on the 1984-85 men’s basketball team’s jerseys – after all, they went to the Final Four in 1985. Coached by Lou Carnesecca, St. John’s dominated the Big East; Chris Mullin and co. won the regular season championship and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Though they ultimately fell in the tournament to conference foe Georgetown (as they also had twice before in conference play), the team earned its best postseason finish since 1952.
