This retro Longhorn mark dates back to the mid-twentieth century, but it bears resemblance to Texas' costumed mascot, Hook ‘Em, who debuted in 1976. Hook ‘Em came to life when the school realized it’s not easy to bring the live version of Bevo everywhere the Longhorns go.
