As Khalid El-Amin famously put it, UConn men’s basketball “shocked the world” when they beat Duke in the 1999 National Championship Game. The Huskies won their first title at the last second, as Duke’s Trajon Langdon was unable to get a shot off at the buzzer to force overtime. The team entered the game a 9.5-point underdog, and ended up winning by three.
