Midnite Madness is a longstanding UNCW hoops tradition, celebrating the start of the men’s and women’s seasons with a host of late-night spirit events. Based on an old rule that basketball teams couldn’t begin practicing until midnight of their first approved training day, UNCW’s Midnite Madness events began in 1990, which is also when this vintage Seahawk was in regular use.
